Not Quite

I did not quite take quilting pictures this weekend. Photography is hard for me, and to get something that is blog-able would take a chunk of time that never seems to present itself. To prove that I have been sewing, here are some old (and truly awful) pictures of a quilt I finished early this summer. Actually it is one of my pet peeves when bloggers complain about their photo quality since usually the pics they are complaining about look decent, but I guess I am succumbing to the urge this time. Since I don't have the quilt anymore, this is really its only chance to get on the blog:

I also did not quite create the list of the best quilting books I've read so far. I wanted to do this not so much for my readership - even I will admit it is rather dry material - but to document for myself. So, here goes a rough list, no Amazon links or anything:
  • Sensational Settings
  • Quilts from the Quiltmaker's Gift
  • Color from the Heart
  • Collaborative Quilting (Freddy and Gwen, both books with the chickens on the front)
  • Some book about free motion quilting with three versions of each quilt (including "the dragger") that I can't remember the name of and wish I could find in the library again
  • The American Quilt, or whatever the Kirakoffe (sp?) quilt history book is called
I can always come back to this post and add titles as I think of them, but that is a start.

I cannot quite believe that I was still pregnant a year ago. When looking for yarn pictures to post, I came across these two pics of people from July 2010. Hard to believe I felt so huge at 6 mos pregnant, the girl in the picture looks tiny to me, especially considering Will's size now. And of course, Mr. YP slaved away in the kitchen that summer preparing fresh fruit for his preggo fruit-craving wife. Food presentation has always been one of Mr. YP's fortes, and you can see a patriotic theme in the salad.

Willerpillar is not quite one year old yet. And as illustrated by the videos below, he also...

Is standing up during living room chases now, but cannot quite remain upright during all of the excitement (to his credit, this video is of one of the first vertical chases, he has improved since then):

Likes his new toy Rockie the Rocking Horse, but cannot quite figure out how to get on:

Cannot quite keep himself out of the toy bin. Literally:

If something is where it should be, the desire to grab it and fling it far away is overwhelming:
